  • Course must be completed 4 weeks prior to the first day of training.

The Role of a LETRS Facilitator
The Facilitator is an individual with a deep understanding of the content and a commitment to become an expert in the research-based theories of LETRSThis individual will facilitate face-to-face workshops aligned to each unit, facilitate Professional Learning Communities, answer questions from participants, and review participants’ online data to determine if gaps in conceptual understanding exist that need to be addressed in a customized workshop.

The Role of a LETRS Early Childhood Facilitator
The Facilitator is an individual with a deep understanding of the content and a commitment to become an expert in the research-based theories of LETRS Early ChildhoodThis individual will facilitate face-to-face workshops aligned to each unit, facilitate Professional Learning Communities, answer questions from participants, and review participants’ online data to determine if gaps in conceptual understanding exist that need to be addressed in a customized workshop. 

Prerequisites to Become a LETRS Facilitator 

Each attendee must meet eligibility requirements:

  • Complete the online content for Units 1–4 or Units 5-8.
  • Attend four days of Unit training, with one full day (6 instructional hours) dedicated to each Unit in the Volume. These can be virtual or in person, spread across several months.
  • Pass the post-test with a score of 88 percent or better.
  • Purchase a Facilitator’s Kit upon meeting prerequisites. This includes a 1-year license to the Literacy Symposium.


Prerequisites to Become a LETRS Early Childhood Facilitator 

Each attendee must meet eligibility requirements:

  • Complete the online content for Units 1–4.
  • Attend two days of Unit training. These can be virtual or in person, spread across several months.
  • Pass the post-test with a score of 90 percent or better.
  • Purchase a Facilitator’s Kit upon meeting prerequisites. This includes a 1-year license to the Literacy Symposium.


Expectations of a Facilitator upon Certification
  • Sign and submit a Statement of Commitment.
  • Complete a minimum of eight sessions of ongoing professional development offered annually by Lexia Learning.
  • Remain employed or contracted by the sponsoring agency.
